1. Acceptance of Terms

By engaging Local Plumbing Patrol ("we," "us," or "our") for plumbing services, you ("client," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and our company.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting on our website.

2. Services Provided

Plumbing Services

We provide the following professional plumbing services:

  • Emergency plumbing repairs and 24/7 callouts
  • Blocked drain clearing and pipe repairs
  • Hot water system installation and repairs
  • Bathroom and kitchen plumbing renovations
  • Gas fitting and appliance connections
  • Leak detection and pipe relining
  • Backflow prevention and testing

Service Standards

Our plumbing work is conducted in accordance with:

  • Australian Standard AS/NZS 3500 for plumbing and drainage
  • NSW Fair Trading licensing requirements
  • Industry best practices and safety standards
  • Local council regulations and building codes

3. Client Obligations

To ensure effective service delivery, you agree to:

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to plumbing systems
  • Turn off water supply if instructed for safety reasons
  • Provide accurate information about plumbing issues
  • Be present during service or arrange for authorized representation
  • Make payment according to agreed terms and schedule
  • Notify us of any changes to service requirements
  • Comply with all safety requirements and instructions

4. Limitations and Exclusions

Important Limitations

Please read this section carefully as it outlines important limitations of our plumbing services.

Scope of Service

Our plumbing services are limited to accessible areas and standard procedures. We do not:

  • Perform structural modifications without proper permits
  • Work on systems that are unsafe or non-compliant
  • Guarantee against future blockages or system failures
  • Provide electrical work (separate licensed electrician required)
  • Work on heritage or specialized systems without consultation
  • Provide cost estimates for extensive renovations

Emergency Conditions

Emergency callouts may be limited by weather conditions, access restrictions, or safety concerns. We prioritize safety and may postpone non-urgent work if conditions are unsafe.

5. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed
  • We accept cash, bank transfer, and major credit cards
  • Emergency callout fees apply for after-hours services
  • Late payment may incur additional charges as specified
  • Disputed charges must be raised within 30 days
  • All prices include GST where applicable

6. Liability and Insurance

Public Liability

We maintain public liability insurance coverage of $20,000,000. Our liability is limited to the amount of this insurance coverage or the fee paid for our services, whichever is lower.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for:

  • Consequential, indirect, or special damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Pre-existing plumbing defects not caused by our work
  • Damage to non-compliant or illegal plumbing systems
  • Issues arising from failure to follow maintenance advice

7. Warranties and Guarantees

We provide warranties on our workmanship and installed parts as follows:

  • 12 months warranty on all plumbing repairs and installations
  • Manufacturer warranties apply to all supplied parts and fixtures
  • Emergency repairs carry a 3-month workmanship warranty
  • Warranties void if work is modified by unlicensed persons

8. Cancellation and Rescheduling

  • Cancellations with more than 2 hours notice: No charge
  • Cancellations with less than 2 hours notice: Callout fee applies
  • No-show appointments: Full callout fee charged
  • Emergency callouts cannot be cancelled once dispatched
  • We reserve the right to reschedule for safety reasons

9. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, we encourage resolution through direct communication. If this is unsuccessful, disputes will be resolved through:

  • NSW Fair Trading mediation services
  • If mediation fails, binding arbitration under NSW law
  • All disputes are subject to NSW law and jurisdiction
  • Claims must be made within 12 months of service completion

10. Privacy and Confidentiality

We respect your privacy and maintain confidentiality of all client information. Our privacy practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

We may use anonymized case studies and photographs for marketing purposes, but will not disclose client or property-specific information without consent.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any legal proceedings will be conducted in the courts of NSW.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
